Pick Tiki is by young people for young people! With the support of the fruit growing industry in New Zealand we decided to step up and offer our fellow students the best access to the best summer fruit picking jobs!

While we’re all stuck in NZ why not do a working holiday in our own backyard? Pick Tiki brings together the best employers, jobs, accommodation providers, and tourism opportunities all here on this website and on our facebook page.

If you’re fit, not afraid of a bit of hard work, and keen to get out into the best parts of NZ this summer, make lots of new mates, and earn a fair bit of cash while doing it then jump in!

29 September

Arts & Design – Creating the hybrid
It’s time to stretch your imagination and vision! Your brief is to blend/hybridise two or more differing ‘images’ to compose a new creation of your choice.
9am – 12pm

Tourism
Do you love travelling, exploring and adventure? Are you passionate about New Zealand’s stunning and unique attractions? Here’s your chance to find out about the tourism and travel industry and the skills you need to be a part of it.
9am – 11am

Beauty – DIY Lip Balm
In this taster workshop you will create a lip balm to take home and learn about the curative properties of the ingredients.
9am – 11am

Primary Industries – Enviro-Management
Biodiversity matters! Did you know that 4000 native plants, birds and mammals are at risk of becoming extinct? Find out how you can be part of the solution at our hands-on environmental management workshop.
9am – 12pm

Architectural Technology
In this workshop we will look at the role of the Architectural technologist in the building industry and we will use the tools and techniques of that they use, such as manual drawings and CAD.
9am – 12pm

Health – Simple make up & skin care
Come along and learn some simple make up techniques, and how to look after your skin.
9am – 11am

Te Ūranga Waka – Lights! Camera! Action
Become a Te Karere Reporter for the day! You can draft your own script and then present in the big lights!
10am – 12pm

Computing – Introducing Data Analytics & Visualisation
Introducing tools and techniques to easily visualise data.

30 September

Vet Nursing
Meet or beautiful animals in our new animal facility, get up close, find out how to look after them and learn some basics about working in the animal industry.
9am – 12pm

Sport Science – Speed & Power
Come along and test your speed and power, and try to replicate and/or improve results with a different test. Please wear/bring gear that you can run, jump and cycle in.
9am – 11am

Business – The Individual Load
A problem solving activity.
